Correns has a rich history going back to Roman times and is dotted with historic sights, including the medieval church of Saint-Martin and the Roman bridge over the river Argens.
For nature lovers there are plenty of opportunities for walking and cycling in the surrounding hills and forests, including the impressive Gorges du Verdon, a spectacular gorge known as the "Grand Canyon of Europe". Water sports are also popular in the region, especially kayaking and canoeing on the rivers and lakes.
And if you are looking for something cultural, you can visit the many art galleries and studios in the village, where local artists exhibit their work.
Near Correns there are plenty of interesting attractions to discover, such as the Vallon Sourn, Le Grand Baou, Sillans-la-Cascade, Cotignac, the Caves of Villecroze, Tourtour, also known as the "village in the sky", and the Abbey of Le Thoronet with its wonderful acoustics. There is also the Lake of Carcès, Entrecasteaux, several wine estates and even a village devoted to tortoises called "Le village des tortues". There are also plenty of small festivals and themed evenings in the village and the surrounding area. For day trips, both the sea, including Saint-Tropez, and the Gorges du Verdon are highly recommended. And don't forget to visit the Provençal markets nearby!
