Sillans-la-Cascade: the hidden blue lagoon of Provence
Date
Deep in the heart of Provence, in the charming village of Sillans-la-Cascade, lies one of the hidden gems of southern France: the impressive waterfall of Sillans-la-Cascade.
Fed by a tributary of the Argens, this spectacular waterfall plunges 44 metres into an emerald-green pool, also known as the "Blue Lagoon of Provence". It is a true paradise for nature lovers, walkers and anyone looking for a refreshing escape on hot summer days.
There are several car parks within walking distance of the footpath to the waterfall. The path itself is easy, but the last stretch to the waterfall can be a little tricky with a pushchair.
The sounds of nature, the rustling of the leaves and the gentle babbling of the river guide you to one of the most beautiful spots in the region.
Although swimming directly in the pool at the foot of the waterfall is not allowed, for ecological and safety reasons, there are other parts of the river where you can cool off and enjoy the clear water.
The fresh air, the shade of the trees and the cool water make this an unmissable stop on any trip through Provence.
