Mont Ventoux, the Giant of Provence, towers over vineyards, lavender and villages. Discover our holiday homes at the foot of the mountain, from Bédoin and Malaucène to Vaison-la-Romaine and Venasque.
At 1,910 metres, Mont Ventoux can be seen from far and wide, which is why it is known as the Géant de Provence. The massif has been a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 1990, and the Parc naturel régional du Mont-Ventoux was created in 2020. Around its foot lie vineyards, orchards and lavender fields, in an area rich in wines and products with a protected designation of origin.
Three classic routes lead to the summit: from Bédoin, from Malaucène and from Sault. The Tour de France has come here many times, and every year cyclists from all over the world arrive to make their own ascent. Good to know: the road over the summit is closed in winter, usually from mid November to mid April or May. Prefer to stay lower down? Explore the Dentelles de Montmirail, the Gorges de la Nesque or the Toulourenc valley by bike or on foot.
On the north side of the mountain, Vaison-la-Romaine charms with its Roman remains and its Tuesday market. Carpentras holds its market on Friday mornings, and from mid November to the end of March its well known truffle market too. Perched on their rocks, Venasque and Le Beaucet offer wonderful views. And on 15 August, Sault, on the plateau behind the Ventoux, celebrates its Fête de la Lavande.
Our holiday homes are in the villages all around the mountain, from Malaucène and Crestet in the north to Bédoin, Mormoiron and Monieux in the south. Whether you come to cycle, to hike or simply to enjoy the light and the quiet, below you will find our homes and every village we cover around Mont Ventoux.
