Another notable feature of Carpentras is the Synagogue of Carpentras, the oldest synagogue still in use in all of France. Built in 1367, it bears witness to the long presence and contribution of the Jewish community to the town and the region.
In culinary terms, Carpentras is known for its delicious "Berlingots," small hard sweets with thin white stripes, made from fruit syrup.
