Provençal markets

The markets of Provence may well be the most famous in the world. They are often very friendly too, and bring out all the charm of Provence. Besides strolling between the stalls, you can discover local specialities such as herbs, wicker baskets and bags, soaps, lavender (and lavender products), tablecloths, honey and cheeses. Round off your visit on a terrace with a nice glass of rosé or a cool pastis.

You can visit these typical Provençal villages from early morning until around 12:00 or 13:00. In high season, July and August, it is highly recommended to get there early to beat the real crowds.
