Holiday homes in Oppède

Oppède is a Luberon commune in the Vaucluse: medieval Oppède-le-Vieux clings to the Petit Luberon, while the modern village lies on the Coulon plain. The Collégiale Notre-Dame-d'Alidon, calades and wide views: an authentic base in the Luberon regional park.

More about Oppède

A medieval village tucked against the Luberon

At the foot of the Luberon lies Oppède, with its eye-catcher higher up: Le Vieil Oppède. This old medieval village was largely abandoned and slowly overgrown by nature. Today you walk through narrow stone streets past old houses, the remains of the castle and the medieval walls.

Through the Jardins de Sainte-Cécile you walk up to where the Collégiale Notre-Dame Dalidon looks out over the valley and the Luberon. It is a place where history and nature come together beautifully.

Oppède has a quieter atmosphere than some of the better-known Luberon villages. It is not a village you tick off in an hour, but a place to wander at leisure, enjoy the view and discover its unusual history along the way.

In and around Oppède you will also find vineyards, olive groves and lovely walks. Its location makes it an ideal base for discovering Ménerbes, Goult, Bonnieux and the other Luberon villages as well.

Our tip: visit Le Vieil Oppède late in the afternoon. The light on the old stones and the view over the Luberon make it a special moment of the day.
